Houston Symphonic Band

 

Overview

The Houston Symphonic Band is a collection of talented amateur, semi-professional and professional musicians who believe that making music is a life long endeavor. Meeting once a week year-round the band performs regularly in Houston, Texas and around the world. The Houston Symphonic Band is a recipient of the John Philip Sousa Foundation's Sudler Silver Scroll Award, a juried competition recognizing the finest bands in the world. The band has performed numerous times at the Texas Band Master Association’s Convention and at the Texas Music Educator’s Association’s Convention. On tour the group has played in England, Ireland, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the People’s Republic of China. The band has participated in performances with the top British military bands at Kneller Hall in London, performed on the Great Wall of China, and was the first American band to perform with the Band of the People’s Republic of China in a joint concert.
