Music Doing Good

Overview

Music Doing Good is an organization inspired by the artists that compose it. Our talented ensemble of local, national and international singers, songwriters and performance artists have a unique breadth and passion for the music we create, and are committed to use that music to do good in the world. Drawn to our mission of Philanthropy Through Music, our season offers concerts that deliver diverse musical perspectives. Whether you fancy R&B, acoustic guitar, jazz, classical or Broadway, we've probably got you covered. Because we custom tailor our shows, no two are alike! And while each individual musical facet shines on it's own in the spotlight, the cumulative effect of the entire evening is a deeply rewarding and dazzling experience.

2012 Season

Music Doing Good launches the second annual Jazz series at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. In collaboration with Delfeayo Marsalis, of the famed New Orleans Jazz Family, this series showcases some of the most revered Jazz musicians in the country. The proceeds of each concert benefit Music Doing Good in Schools, an innovative, interdisciplinary, musical-arts, after-school enrichment program for students ages 7 to 18 who want to take their skills to a higher level. Designed to enlighten, motivate and stimulate student creativity using a diversified approach to music, this unique approach brings together music, dance and theater to support core curriculum learning such as math and science in a challenging, interactive and engaging environment where students work in harmony to create a live musical production that is presented at The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. The entire Jazz Series also takes place at the Hobby Center, 800 Bagby, 77006.

Jazz Pazzports are available to offer a discount to audience members who buy the entire season of four (4) concerts. Single Jazz Pazzports are $75 and Double Jazz Pazzports (2 tickets) are $135. Special Jazz Pazzports are also available for seniors and educators, as well as for students. Tickets are available by visiting www.thehobbycenter.org or by calling 713.315.2525.
