Yellow River Chorus / Zilkha Hall

The Houston Yellow River Chorus (YRC), established in 1996, is a group encompassing over sixty amateur singing enthusiasts from all walks of life in Houston, Texas. We have performed various titled concerts at multiple venues throughout Texas. Striving to make a contribution to the Chinese-US cultural exchange, YRC not only brings to the stage traditional and contemporary Chinese folk songs, but also music from other cultures to our fellow Chinese and American audiences.

Under our current director Lily Tsang, YRC has blossomed to become one of the leading and most sought after choir among the Chinese community in the greater Houston area. In August 2019, YRC becomes the proud recipient of Walt Disney Motif Award for Humanity National Music Tribute.

YRC will celebrate this Christmas holiday season in the upcoming performance, singing Chinese masterpieces along with American traditional holiday songs such as “Joy to the World! Hallelujah! ” and "Ave Maria.”
