City of Houston repair crews will close I-10 Eastbound between Shepherd and Houston Ave. this weekend starting at 9pm on Friday, Jan 6, 2018. An overheight truck struck the Houston Ave bridge last month and repairs need to be made.
With the freeway closing, entrance ramps at Silber, Washington, T.C. Jester, Shepherd, Heights, Studemont and Taylor are also closed, along with exits at Yale, Studemont and Taylor, starting at 7:30 p.m. To reduce traffic into the closing area, the connection from Loop 610 near Uptown to eastbound I-10 and the ramp from U.S. 290 to eastbound I-10 will also close at 7:30 p.m.
Houston Avenue is also closed during the work as crews repair the steel beam that was struck.
If your are visiting the Hobby Center this weekend, please give yourself additional travel time to arrive before your scheduled performance.
